Dental Health Matters

This afternoon, Crystal Top, from Health Services of Lyon County came to our classroom to remind my students that dental health matters. She shared a video demonstrating the importance of brushing and flossing away those sugar bugs and then reviewed foods that are best to consume and avoid for keeping their teeth clean and hopefully, cavity-free. Nurse Crystal reminded everyone to visit their dentist every six months as well as brush their teeth twice a day for two minutes each time. Everyone was very excited to receive her special kits that included a coloring packet, toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and a two-minute sand timer. To end this lesson, they listened to "Andrew's Loose Tooth" written and read by Robert Munsch on our smart board. They loved anticipating the repetitive text and his expression. Everyone definitely shared their biggest smiles as they laughed their way through this hilarious story. We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Health Services of Lyon County and Nurse Crystal for visiting and reminding us of the importance of this fundamental life skill.
