Our 2nd Graders Sure Rock
In honor of Earth day in April, our 2nd graders were assigned to clean-up Island Park. On Thursday, May 8th, we finally had a beautiful, sunny day and everyone was so excited to be outside supporting our community. Once we were finished cleaning up the bike trail path from Moon Creek Vet Clinic all the way to the Rock Rapids swimming pool, our students then found the perfect place to "hide" their kindness rocks they designed at our PBIS family celebration in March. The intention with this craft is that when people come upon these colorful treasures in Island park, they will take a picture, post them to the Central Lyon Facebook page with the #onwardlions, and then find a new place for them so others can discover and enjoy the rocks, too. We hope they bring lots of smiles to many people and remind everyone that our students and their kindness sure do rock!
